San Francisco based fashion designer Mahwash Shewan launched her career as a couture evening gown designer in 1994. She led the fashion runways with her unique designs that were featured all over California boutiques. The Shewan Designs label housed impeccable and sophisticated couture gowns that eventually shaped her latest collection of casual chic line which originated in 2012.
Mahwash’s designs represent a versatile, comfortable yet sophisticated style for any woman no matter what the occasion. Most of her dresses are reversible, machine washable and made from 100% organic cotton. All her collections are manufactured in San Francisco with attention to detail quality.
In 2013, Mahwash also launched her jewelry collection composed of mixed materials and unique culturally influenced designs. While all her jewelry is manufactured in San Francisco, her materials are all imported from France and Italy. Mahwash’s ability to create designs that are universal and multi-purpose is the key to her success and what differentiates her from other designers. She continues to innovate with her designs and resides in San Francisco today.
